Halloween

Okay, how can I possibly let Halloween go by without an entry about it?  Halloween is one of my very favorite holidays.  I used to say it was my favorite, but I have to admit, I love them all.  There is something about the air on a holiday.  I’ve worked through holidays for many years, but that never seems to matter.  The fact is that holidays are still great.  I seem to actually get more done on holidays it seems just because doing ANYTHING on a holiday is more fun! 

I love the focus on holidays.  There is an attitude of fun regardless of whether you are at work or not.  Everyone seems friendlier, the work seems easier, and the air seems lighter.  I occasionally declared random “holidays” in my office overseas.  That didn’t mean we didn’t work, it only meant it was a signal for everyone to relax a bit and enjoy it. 

One of the great things about Halloween in particular is that it doesn’t matter what day it falls on, there will be Halloween parties on the weekend.  I’m thinking that every holiday should encompass a weekend.  If it is on a Wednesday, like this Halloween, the actual celebration should legally start on Friday night and extend through Thursday morning.  Ending it on Wednesday night seems silly to me because you can’t fully enjoy if you have to get up for work in the morning.  Of course, if the holiday falls on a Saturday you only get the weekend, but still a three day celebration is not a bad thing either.

Regardless of whether you celebrated on Saturday night or are enjoying today, Intending Bliss and I would like to wish you a safe, fun, and memorable Halloween!

Who will be voted off the stage?

Until a few days ago I was one of those 2% of Americans who didn’t own a TV.  I realized however, that now that I’m back in the “real world”, I should know what is going on.  I decided to watch enough prime time TV to know what shows are being played and watched and what is being talked about.  After all, after being without TV for over three years, I must admit I’m a little “out of it” in that department.

So a couple of days ago I watched “America’s Next Top Model.”  The next night (I think) I saw part of “Dancing With the Stars”.  What I found interesting was that the odds every week are in favor of almost everyone moving on yet the focus is on who is going to get kicked off.

I heard a story recently about a major star who went to an acting class when she was first starting out.  The instructor told the class that out of all of them the odds were that only one of them would have a successful acting career.  Our star looked around and instantly thought to herself “I feel sorry for all the other kids in this class”.  She knew she would succeed and she would be that one.  THAT is the Law of Attraction at work!

We seem to thrive on stories of failure and focus on who will be “voted off the island”.  Has it ever occurred that we can all be successful and be winners in exactly what we want to do or be?  After all, how many people dream of taking the best of all the programs out there and melding them into one to coach people in the Law of Attraction?  How many people out there have your dream? 

Every single one of us is different.  I’m willing to bet that if you really look at what you truly want, there aren’t many people who want exactly what you do.  Yes, lots of people want similar things, but there is definitely room for similar!  After all, do you listen to only one musical artist?  One type of music?  One radio station?  Do you eat only food prepared by one chef? 

If we start to look at all the successful people out there and the similarities and differences between them, I think it is easy to see that we can all be “the one” that makes it.  We only need to decide what our niche is and know that we can succeed.

The Best Days Start Out the Worst

Have you seen the scene in the movie “The Secret” where the woman runs out of toothpaste but she just shrugs and continues on?  Well I was really not good at that.  I learned something though that turned that around for me and I’d like to share it with you.  I found when I looked back, that the best days often started out badly.  What I did at that point was consciously decide to remind myself when a day started off badly, that the best days start the worst. 

Well, last night I went out dancing; a friend and I were celebrating a recent success.    I was going to go home early, but I admit I was enjoying myself and stayed out later than I should have.  Anyway, I was supposed to ride horses bright and early today and things just weren’t going well.  It seemed to be one silly thing after another on top of the fact that I was tired.  I had committed to going however and didn’t back out.  I reminded myself that the best days start out the worst.

We loaded up the horses and headed out to a new place I hadn’t been before.  The full moon was high in a clear sky as we rode along and across a river so clear you could see every rock in the bottom.  The morning was brisk and the horses eager to go.  The sun was just hitting some distant snow covered mountains casting them in the pink of sunrise. 

On the way back to the ranch we decided to stop for breakfast.  The smells from the kitchen were heavenly, the coffee warmed our chilled hands, and the company and conversation were as welcoming and friendly as you might imagine in a small town café.  Yes, the morning started off a little rocky, but I wouldn’t trade the memory of those few of hours for a couple of hours of sleep any day!

So the next time your day starts off rough, just remind yourself “the best days start off the worst”, and anticipate the wonderful day you are going to have.

Amazing Weight Loss Success Story Update

I had to do a "Wendy" update for all of those who were wondering if she made her goal.  (For those new to join us, read the entry of October 20 for the start of Wendy's story.)  She was going to shop on November 1, but she just couldn't wait.  She went shopping on October 27, which was 19 days after starting with Intending Bliss.  She lost two full pant sizes doubling her goal!  She still isn't dieting nor has she started a formal exercise program.  She only changed her thoughts about herself and the rest just fell into place with the weight falling off. 

We are so proud of you Wendy!  You set a wonderful example of what we all can manifest if we just follow the program.  Keep it up!

The Use of Practical Tips Cleaning and Organizing Can Help the Law of Attraction Work for You

One of the things to keep in mind when using the Law of Attraction is that you are actually trying to attract something.  Well, if you don’t have room for it, it has no place to move into in your life.  Living in clutter can definitely block those things you are trying to attract.  Now I don’t really know if this falls into Feng Shui, the Law of Attraction, or just raising our vibrations, but it is something you will see addressed in manifestation articles and books and will notice can make a difference for you.  Removing clutter in our lives makes everything manifest more easily and quickly.

Although the obvious clutter would be in our homes, cars, offices, etc., there are other types of clutter.  Look at your email inbox; do you need to purge emails?  Look at your weight and health; do you have “body clutter?”  Look at your finances; do you need to clean up bills and organize your finances?  Take the time to even look at your thoughts.  Do you need to schedule more time for relaxation so you can clear the clutter from your brain?  These are all areas of our lives that we can address and remove clutter from and if we think about it, there are many more.  How about the clutter in your files?  In your address books? Etc.  Don’t limit yourself.  The more you clear out, the easier manifestation will become.

Why Doesn’t the Law of Attraction Work? How Specific Are You Being?

Why doesn’t the law of attraction work?  That is a great question and one I expect many people ask.  The basic answer is that it does work - infallibly, but there are tricks to using it effectively.  This article will address one of the main ones, specificity.

I had a friend who was a radio DJ and loved it, but he yearned to be the one making the music on stage instead of just playing it…he wanted to be a music star.  Well, he decided his measure of success towards that end would be achieved when he had his name on a guitar strap.  A friend of his made him a custom guitar strap with his name in silver.  Was he successful in the way he wanted to be?  Of course not!  He wasn’t making music on stage.

Then he decided success would be achieved when he had his face printed on a t-shirt, like so many famous musicians.  As it turned out, the radio station he worked for had a t-shirt made with likenesses of each of the DJs.  Was he successful?  No, he still wasn’t playing his music on stage.  He could be asking “Why doesn’t the law of attraction work?”

He said he wanted to move thousands of people to feel the way he wanted them to feel.  He was regularly asked to introduce bands on stage and excite the audience prior to their performance.  Was he successful yet?  Well, he did achieve exactly what he declared he wanted to, but he still wasn’t playing his music on stage. 

He was frustrated and discontent because he didn’t have what he wanted, a successful career as a famous musician.  Basically, at this point he was saying “Why doesn’t the law of attraction work?”  But what he really needed to understand is that he effortlessly manifested exactly what he desired.  The problem was he just wasn’t specific enough and didn’t focus on the “big picture.”

Iraq Surg revisited

I am very blessed to have many friends with a variety of interests.  One thing I believe the majority of them have in common is that they are well educated either formally or informally.  We all support each other in our endeavors and feel free to let each other know when we have made errors or can adjust something.  I have lost count of the number of friends who have pointed out that "surg" is spelled incorrectly in my "Iraq Surg" article.  Yes, I know that surge is correctly spelled with an "e".  Thank you for pointing it out, I very much appreciate it.  In this case however, the incorrect spelling was intentional as much as it bothers me to do that.  You may soon see the post modified as it is like "fingernails on a chalkboard" to me, but for now it stands.

The Perfect Life can always get better!

I recently heard from a very good friend of mine who means a great deal to me.  He said to me that his life is perfect except. .. Now dismissing that “except” for now, it really made me think about having a perfect life.  He says he doesn’t want to change anything.  I had a hard time wrapping my brain around that one. I decided that if I ever say a thing like that it is time to stop living.  How can anyone not want to see, learn, and experience more? 

I think the definition of a perfect life is being grateful and content with what you have, but also being excited for the myriad of things yet to come!  I hope I continue to intend and focus on those exciting experiences I want to manifest in my life.  I hope I continue to strive for more.  This doesn’t mean that I’m not thrilled and content with my present, it just means that I intend to make the most out of the life I’ve been given and I will use any tool at my disposal to do just that.  To stop being able to imagine the possibilities would be just heartbreaking. 

I must say, I absolutely love working with groups who have “perfect lives” and are so motivated and excited about the endless possibilities that they strive to learn how best to move those experiences into their realities.  So I would like to say to my friend “Thank you” for helping me to realize that my life is perfect and I still can’t wait to see what is around the next corner.

Iraq Surg – Support the Troops by Focusing on Peace

If you turn on the news you are pretty well guaranteed to hear about the war.  You will hear terms like “middle east or Iraq or Africa terrorist attack”, “intelligence support to combating terrorism”, the “Iraq surge”, and “terrorist target surveillance”.  I just returned home from being in the Middle East for three years so I am going off of hear-say on some of the generalities, but it sounds as if “the war” in the states is referring to the war in Iraq.  Many refer to the war in Afghanistan as “the forgotten war”.  Of course there is also the “War on Terror.”   Regardless of which one we refer to, there is plenty of talk and attention given to “the war.”  I have to admit I believe it is a good thing in so far as it has enabled our country to support our military and to a lesser extent those civilians serving overseas.  What has happened however is we have an entire country, and world, now focusing on war.  Some people are pro-war and some are anti-war, but the focus is still on war. 

Those of us who study and live by the Law of Attraction know that we receive more of what we focus on.  You don’t have to think very hard to see the error in this focus.  Some people may think if we take our focus off the war that we are no longer supporting our troops or working toward ending the war.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  As peace and war are mutually exclusive, if we manifest peace the war will obviously be ended.  We can definitely continue supporting our troops as we are working toward achieving peace.  The difference is in our focus.  I can safely say that the majority of those people I call friends are still very much involved in the war.  My thoughts do not exclude them, they focus on them achieving peace and either staying there to help build on that peace or coming home safely to enjoy their families as their will leads them.
